  hello all... i came across this line of questioning many months on the inet so i decided that i would submit just this once to peer pressure and make a usefull contribution to the board.. here is the question... is jesus just "a god?".

  many of the regular inet surfers would have come across this line of questioning before so if you have you could just sit back and relax and read the replys.. <><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>.

  While I have always believed the Cup is just not as exciting without England and Germany in competition, I am forced to choose Argentina.

  The brits may have "stolen" the Malvinas and Gibraltar, but the World Cup would be in better hands in Argentina and all England can hope for is a third, fourth or fifth place finish, at best.

  it has been a few months since i have posted.

  i am asking my friends here to take a minute to follow this link to a front page article in the providence journal bulletin (the main newspaper in the state of rhode island) and read the information concerning the latest candidate to join the race for governor.. it is my wife.

  although her decision to enter this race (despite 4 generations of jw heritage, pioneering, etc..) was solidified many months ago, i did not have an opportunity to plan for such instant publicity and media coverage.. i too have been busy exiting the federal government and launching my technology company.

  After only 24 hours, the announcement has spread to "friends" in San Diego and other parts of the country.

  I am wondering what the "official" outcome will be concerning this circuit and its local proximity. Perhaps, in order to appear more "mainstream & politically correct", there may not be any action taken at all in this case. During a time of serious religious scrutiny, war, patriotism and elections, it may not be wise to ex-communicate a member who is publicly running for office.

  I am curious to say the least. Each day, with more interviews and media coverage, our names are being vocalized. New England is very small in nature and news travels fast.

  Since the majority of the PO's, CO's and local bodies are often made up of middle-aged and older men, it is quite possible a traditional hardcore approach and judicial action may be taken against us for our political involvement.

  The whole UN fiasco comes to mind and I will certainly keep my research ready.

  Protecting Children From Sex

  with controversy surrounding a soon-to-be-published book entitled harmful to minors: the perils of protecting children from sex ( http://more.abcnews.go.com/sections/us/dailynews/childsex_book020405.html), it is apparent that attitudes may indeed be changing in our society in regard to sex among youths.

  instead of being totally avoided, they may be given encouragement to practice sex (obviously within safe limits) with other youths or even adults.

  some cultures already encourage something like this.. socially, it seemed that boys were given subtle encouragement to "score", while girls were always viewed as the innocent victims to be protected from such lustful young men.

  This wreaks of "NAMBLA" type propaganda designed to lunge innocent unsuspecting and unprepared individuals into social degeneration.

  Don't we have enough diseases spreading around yet? Who benefits by increased pregnancies? Who will support the cost of population explosions?

  I would rather start neutering humans before I would promote sexual activity at earlier stages.

  Perhaps the "hidden" tragedy lying quietly beneath everyone's arguments is simply this; the cyclical debating of the nature/form of Jesus and/or God when all you have available are the writings of ancient men. How can any reasonable conclusions be drawn from unreliable sources?

  Ancient men plagued with fear and superstition of the unknown present their collective and "recollective" accounts, opinions and dreams about the "Creator/Supreme Being (s)" and here thousands of years later intelligent humans are still debating the accuracy and splitting hairs over details.

  Imagine having used "Buck Rogers" as your model for explaining outer space, the future and technology. How would your conclusions appear?

  Perhaps I forgot to mention in my post that I wasn't posting the entire contents of the book to elaborate all details to the finite level!.

  Now, where the ghetto definition comes in is simple. How long does a nice neighborhood last when property "owners" abandon and gentrified investors take over and begin converting homes into apartments?

  It's an old tactic and vicious cycle. Abandon the neighborhood because minorities move in, watch it degrade due to poverty, absentee landlords/slumlords, then when values hit rock bottom, come back and "gentrify" the area under the guise of being liberal WASPS not afraid to move into the inner city!

  Once they move back the real gentrification begins! Taking over neighborhood community groups, forming new groups and coalitions and then running for office in that district to secure more power. Soon, even the ghetto isn't free anymore if you're black, asian or hispanic.
